Little Anthony and The Imperials was one of the most popular R&B singing groups during the '50s, '60s and '70s. Native New Yorkers, Collins and Anthony met when they were three years old. When the two were 13, Collins formed "The Chesters" with Anthony as the lead singer and included other members Wright and Strain. In 1958, End Records signed them to a recording contract and changed the band's name to Little Anthony and the Imperials. Their first hit "Tears on My Pillow" was only the beginning of several well-known hits including "Going Out of My Head," "Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko Bop," "Hurts so Bad" and "I'm on the Outside (Looking In)."
